Tips for Adding Years to your Pet’s Life

Tips for Adding Years to your Pet’s Life

Pets are like a part of your family and you want them to have long and enjoyable lives. There are over 78 million owned dogs and over 86 million owned cats in the United States, proving that Americans love pets. If you are one of those lucky millions to have a pet, there are a few ways you can make sure they live long healthy lives.

1) Investigate their Food

Many pet owners feed their cats and dogs the same thing every day. What they may not realize is that this habit can lead to nutritional deficiencies and food intolerances. Jodi Ziskin, a holistic nutrition and wellness specialist for pets, recommends using a holistic approach to your pet’s diet. This means using real, whole food instead of by-products. rendered ingredients, and artificial flavors.

2) Consider giving them Supplements puppy

There are many factors that contribute to a pet’s lifespan, some of which we cannot control. However, Ziskin says that providing them with a species appropriate diet that includes supplements like omega-3s can contribute to their overall wellness. Omega-3 fatty acids has many health benefits for pets, including healthy skin and coat, joint health with less inflammation, strong immune system, and a healthier digestive tract.

3) Prioritize Play and Rest

Exercise is extremely important to the physical health of your pets. Just the act of walking your dog will help lubricate joints, preserve flexibility, maintain muscle mass, and keep their blood circulating. Make time every day to play with your pets. Cats only need five or ten minutes of interactive play twice a day. Rest is just as important as physical activity. Petting your dog or cat while you relax with them can help reduce their stress levels and make them feel secure.

In addition to these tips, be sure to have regular visits with your pet’s veterinarian to help them stay healthy and live long lives.

Why this Blog ?

Why this Blog ?

As a novice, I am attempting to build this blog on blogger. For the same I was going through the and came across an  on the official website of WordPress which I thought I should delve into.

I took this as a challenge because I felt that at the end of this exercise this will benefit me immensely for greater good and at the same time help me to bring clarity as to arrive at “Why does this blog exist at first place?”. Refer the link which I shared above, at one instant the guys suggested that to have a solid blog or website one should first arrive at the mission statement.

Fare enough!

A good mission statement is like a light house which guides in times of confusion. They asked the reader to answer many questions which when answered will help one arrive at the “Mission Statement” be a Blog or a Website.

This is the first post on my blog, even being so the case it nowhere talks about dogs. The reason? I wanted the post to be helpful to all people like me who are somewhere starting just the way I am doing and are confused about arriving at the “Misson Statement” of  a blog or website, by practically implementing what I read on how to do so.

Lets begin!

Following tough questions should be answered after a good introspection. I am attempting to answer each of this question which will help me get clarity and will also guide me as things start evolving on this blog.

Q1)  What I am going to do with this?

A1 - This is my first web asset online and I desire to nurture it and build a community around this.

Q2) Who is going to read this?

A2 - I hope that (gradually) this blog will be read by anyone & everyone who love dogs, who have dogs as their constant companions & who know that all pets (dogs included) add joy to our lives.

Q3) What kinds of information I will be posting?

A3 - I will be writing variety of informational topics on and everything that surrounds dogs.

Q4) Why am I doing this?

A4 – I want to quench my thirst of reaching people online, making real relationships and build a community of dog lovers with this blog.

Q5) Who am I doing this for?

A5 - For everyone who loves dogs & pets.

Q6) How often I am going to be posting & adding information?

A6 - Initially I will be adding information once a week and gradually increase the frequency to three times a week and stretch myself to add informational, inspirational content 6 times a week.

Finally after answering all the above questions here is the mission statement for my blog

“This blog is dedicated to  everyone who loves dogs/ pets & will cover the informational topics on and everything that surrounds dogs. Initially I will be adding information once a week and gradually increase the frequency to three times a week and stretch myself to add informational, inspirational content 6 times a week. I am doing this because I want to quench my thirst of reaching people online, making real relationships and build a community of dog lovers with this blog.”

I hope that this post will add value to everyone who plans to launch a new blog/ website and get absolute clarity on the way to do this.

Thanks for reading & open for comments.
